Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2023

This competition with a 35-year-old history brings university students, the top universities of the world and businesses together every 2 years to about 15 million people worldwide, who will eagerly be watching as 3000 km of adventure unfolds before their eyes.

A Crazy Challenge

Extreme heat and unpredictable road conditions await us on a 3000 km race track from Darwin all the way to Adelaide.

All of the teams will complete the journey in about a week, starting off each day at sunrise and setting up camp wherever the car arrives at 5 PM.

This is a journey, that will test our solariders technical abilities, mental strength and co-operative prowess.

Competition Classes

Solaride is competing in the Cruiser Class, which was created for cars that are as practical and transferrable to real life as possible. This allows for ideas, that will change how we perceive everyday transportation as well as sustainability and the choices it provides. All together there will be 3 classes at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge:

  • Challenger
  • Cruiser
  • Adventure
